YOUTH

WEIGHTLIFTING PROGRAM

 

OUR MISSION

The Mission of our youth program is to improve our kid's social and emotional skills through resistance training. Over the six weeks of our program your child will practice the six domains of our program while learning to squat, pull, push, and press. Your child will also be introduced to the sport of weightlifting and learn the snatch, clean, and jerk. Our volunteers use these movements and establish positive relationships with your child to help them on the path to becoming a more resilient adult. 

Research Shows

40 % of Rockford youth meet few or no expectations for fine and gross motor skills which include having enough energy for the school day and the appropriate physical development to perform necessary daily tasks.

35% of Rockford youth lack appropriate emotional maturity which contribute impulsivity, restlessness, inattentiveness, and distractibility.

Details

  • FREE for kids 10-18​ and runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday
  • Two class times: 4:30-5:30 or 5:45-6:45
  • Runs every 6 weeks
  • 15 kids per class
